I know why you have back pain– well, probably. But at very least, I have an exercise you can try.
When you sit, when you twist, when you bend over, it might seem like nothing will make it better.
Putting on a back brace probably won’t help, and taking pain pills DEFINITELY won’t help.
So this is the thing: you probably have weak and incapacitated gluteal muscles. That’s right– your butt is making your back hurt.
(I should probably say that I’m not a medical professional, but the exercise coming up here is safe for most folks– why not give it a try, eh?)
The Role Your Butt Plays
Your gluteus maximus is the biggest muscle in your body. It’s one of the primary drivers for movement in your entire kinetic chain, and we as modern humans don’t use it nearly enough.
Your glutes do a couple of different, and very important things, but first and foremost they extend your hip.
The problem is that we simply sit too damn much, which basically signals our brain to tell our body that we don’t need to use our big ol’ butt muscles. Many times this becomes a lack of coordination issue that leads to weakness.
Getting Your Butt To Work Again
You may have heard the term “firing” as in “get your butt firing”. Well, this five-minute workout will teach your body how to do that. Remember, getting your butt to work (aka “fire”) is the first step to getting it strong again by waking up your sleeping giant butt muscles 😉
Try doing this once a day and see if it helps, because it probably won’t hurt, and it will make your butt stronger.
So get your butt in gear, and enjoy!
