Yesterday, I had the honor of being the first speaker and leader in our town’s new Lululemon’s community program. Besides getting hooked up with some sweet gear and a killer book called Essentialism by Greg McKeown, I was provided an opportunity to get in front of a group of local male community leaders for some movement and a short talk.
I decided to record it and put it up here, warts and all, because I feel like this is the most important conversation that we need to have, not just in Steamboat, but on a worldwide level.
With the continuing rise of male suicide, opiate addiction, and other mental health crises, the fitness community needs to be at the forefront of combatting all of them.
We are not just here to make people stronger physically– we should be leaders in the mental health movement as well.
I’ll let the clip speak for itself, but I was very stoked to be able to do this talk, so big thanks to Karina and all the ladies at Lululemon for getting the guys involved. I look forward to continuing to help you guys integrate seamlessly into our community.
Take care of yourselves and each other.
Namaste
